Aluminium ramps

A feature-rich minimalist. Swedish-made aluminium ramps that deploy and stow with gas-spring assist — perforated mesh that sheds snow, rain and dirt, and still lets the driver see through when folded.

What most people never realise

A ramp is not just a slope — it is how clean, safe and independent boarding feels.

Families often live with a heavy, solid board that traps mud in the cabin, blocks the rear view when folded, and fights you every time you lift it. You get used to it — until someone shows you a ramp designed for both the wheelchair user and the person operating it.

iRamp Vehicle is that design: lightweight aluminium, mesh that lets weather through, gas springs that help you lift, and transitions that small front casters do not catch on. Maya Mobility fits it to vehicles — and, where needed, to other access points such as sailboats.

01 · Transition plate

The ridge should not scare you.

Crossing the top of a ramp can feel like a ledge. iRamp’s patented articulated transition plate adjusts to ground level — whether you deploy to pavement or road — so passing in and out stays smooth.

02 · Seamless mesh

Small wheels hate tiny ledges.

Front casters catch on the smallest step. iRamp uses a seamless transition to and from the stretch metal mesh so wheels roll on — not over a lip you only notice when it stops you.

03 · Anti-slip surface

Grip when the ground is wet.

The surface is built for traction so loading and unloading stay simple and safe — rain, snow or a damp quay.

04 · Easy for the helper too

Designed for the user and the driver.

Perforations let the driver see through the folded ramp in the rear-view mirror. Handles, wheels and a gas spring make stowing and deploying effortless — the spring helps lift the ramp back in and stops it falling out uncontrolled.

Everyday details that change the trip

Handles, wheels, locks — small until you need them.

Gas spring assisted

Helps lift the ramp into the vehicle and prevents uncontrolled drop on deploy.

Handles with ease

Elongated handles: pull at the far end to deploy, lift near the hinge to stow.

Wheels on 2-part

Wheels on all 2-part ramps make folding and unfolding easier.

No lubrication needed

Non-lubricated joints — less maintenance hassle year after year.

Smart lock

Stops the ramp deploying itself on a steep incline. One-handed release when you are ready.

Safety straps

Keep the ramp in place in a crash scenario and cut rattle on the road — also one-handed.

2-part or 3-part

Same folded height. Longer reach when you need it.

A 3-part ramp gives about 30% more length with the same folded height as a 2-part — valuable when vehicle floor height is limited and you still need a gentle slope.

2-part

Up to 400 kg · lengths 1600–2800 mm

3-part

~30% longer · same folded height

Customise

Width, length, mesh, handles — ask.

Wider or longer? Standard mesh, tight mesh, or checkered plate on the sides? Handles on top instead of the sides to save space? iRamp Vehicle is customisable — pretty much anything is possible if you ask.

Commercial applications

Ambulances and community transport.

Commercial iRamp versions add reinforcements for up to 600 kg, hi-viz reflective side profiles, tight mesh for stretchers and small wheels, and emergency deployment from inside the vehicle — an extra gas spring and wheels help the ramp open in one movement.

Beyond the car

Same thinking — sailboat and marine access.

Access is not only about vans. When a wheelchair needs a safe path onto a vessel, Maya Mobility applies the same boarding mindset at the marina: a controlled ramp or platform path from dock to deck so sailing stays possible — not theoretical.

Wheelchair boarding a sailboat via stern access platform

Ascending the aluminium access ramp onto the yacht
Wheelchair on the deck-level platform at the stern

FAQ

Questions families ask about ramps.

Perforations let snow, rain and dirt fall through so less mess enters the vehicle. When stowed, the same openings help rear visibility for the driver.
If floor height is limited but you need a gentler slope, a 3-part gives about 30% more length at the same folded height. Maya Mobility measures your vehicle and boarding height to decide.
Standard iRamp Vehicle models are rated to 400 kg. Commercial versions go up to 600 kg for heavier applications such as bariatric transport.
Yes. Designed and tested to UN Regulation No. 17; ramp and fixations withstood a 20G (30 ms) deceleration sled test.
Aluminium ramp thinking can apply to marine boarding when geometry and fixing points allow. Share photos of the yacht access point — Maya Mobility will confirm what is safe and practical.
